Incredible nature getaway- 1 of a kind in Madeira Positive: For the morning and evening, the entire gorgeous valley and hiking trails were ours. A lovely little outdoor space looking over the valley with the clouds rolling across was divine for playing games, eating dinner and just being out in nature. We had lunches and dinners from the café, which was delicious. The staff were super kind and helpful. Negative: This was one of our very favorite stays in Madeira. There’s nothing we didn’t like. But the cost for our room was high for Madeira, especially given that it was a room with two pretty flimsy bunkbeds, and no kitchenette. We know that we were paying for the location and that’s why in the end it was worth it to us. Also, it’s kind of strange midday when we don’t want to be on the trails because they’re so crowded and the nature spot is full of other tourists eating lunch and milling around. We had our own outdoor space, but it is very closely connected to the nature spot, so you can really feel the presence of those other guests. That’s said, this bit of weirdness was entirely worth it for the incredible mornings and evenings we had.

Zeer basis gedeelde slaapkamer op ultieme wandellocatie Positive: Top locatie voor wandelingen in de buurt, zeker voor hikers die op doorreis zijn. Prachtige vergezichten en omgeving. Heerlijk terras. Personeel heel accommoderend! Negative: Check-in (en mogelijkheid tot maaltijden) is tussen 10:00-18:00, want enkel dan is er personeel aanwezig, wat niet vanzelfsprekend was met een lange wandel dag om er op tijd te geraken. Online/telefonisch hebben we het eten voor ‘s avonds en ‘s ochtends geregeld. Lekker, maar zeer kleine porties. We hadden met onze groep 3 van de 4 bedden in de gedeelde slaapkamer, en het geluk dat we niet met nog iemand anders moesten delen; badkamerdeur ging namelijk niet volledig toe, douche deur ook niet en de voegen tussen de douche tegels zagen roos van de schimmel. Bedden hadden ook niets van gordijntjes of andere privacy. Slechte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.
